5 Ways To Thank A Blogger

how to thank a blogger

So you read a post and…

  • You feel great
  • You found the information you were looking for
  • You’ve discovered a better way of doing something
  • You feel inspired
  • You laughed

Here are ways I like to show gratitude for great work, because lets face it, a bunch of us aren’t getting paid enough (or not at all) for the hours of work we put in.

1. The obvious is to follow them through social media.  If I notice they’re new and are struggling with likes I’ll click on all of their social media icons to give them a boost.

2. Writing a tweet is the perfect way to instantly compliment them.  This is my favorite way of reaching out and letting bloggers and writers know they’ve touched my life.  It really gives us all a lift to receive messages too.

3. Exit through an ad.  We know that Google Ad-sense is paid by the amount of clicks.  It’s a great way to “tip” the writer.

4. Share a lot.  When I click tweet I’ll usually add an extra hash tag to increase visibility, and/or include a @potential-sponsor.

5. Pinning to a big group board helps a lot.  I’ve seen so many of the pins I’ve shared get repined 50+ times. It’s great to get word out to thousands of readers through one click.

6.Leaving an insightful comment on the post helps validate their information.

7. Including the post in a future round up is a more laborious method of sharing, but far more effective because it gives the readers another article to share;  increasing the amount of information to spread to future readers.

Thanks for putting together this list. Sometimes we get so much value from a blogger and we just don’t know how to repay them. These are very simple solutions to recognize such contributions!

Great tips! Yes, it is always important for us to uplift other bloggers through our writing but equally important is us showing a thanks when they uplift us! Thanks for linking up with Wake Up Wednesday!

What a wonderful list….I love each and every one of them….I am amazed at how people just don’t understand how much those little “thank yous” can mean the world to someone, not just a blogger, but the clerk at the store, the teenager at the drive-thru window….a simple THANK YOU, can make someones day!

    SO…THANK YOU…..for such a wonderful post!

Hi Jessica! I’m stopping over from Let’s Get Real today. These are great tips to show our love for our fellow bloggers. I have a friend who is not a blogger, but reads a ton of them. I asked her if she leaves a comment. She said she did not because she thought they weren’t really read. Really? I told her we bloggers live for our comments and shares.

Oh that’s too bad…My friends have told me that they don’t comment because they have to leave their email. You are totally right about bloggers loving comments! Thanks for stopping by!

As a newer blogger I learned a lot here. For example, I did not know/think of exiting through an ad. Good to know. And, just so you know, I’m off to ‘tweet’ this post with a #Thankyou 🙂

This is great, I often click on the ads when visiting blogs for that very same reason, knowing how much work we put in and how little we do it for, I also love to share interesting blog posts on Twitter, Facebook and more. I loved this post when I saw it on Treasure Box Tuesday. PS, have shared it on Twitter @ RMDJewellery.

Thanks, Rachel @ Craft, Art & Mess.

Hey, you can thank me anytime you want to! What a generous, thoughtful way to bless other bloggers. I am going to remember this and do it myself. Pinned to my Blogging Tips board!

Thanks for pinning! I love Ducks N A Row! It was one of my first link parties when I started blogging.

Hi! I came across your blog from Anointed Heels today. You’re so kind to think about other bloggers in this way. I appreciate this information, too. Social media is changing so often it’s sometimes hard to keep up with it all.

    • Jessica says

I agree about the social media. I hope my list helps you grow your blogging community. Best of luck!

First off I would like to say awesome blog! I had a
quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear
your head prior to writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing
my mind in getting my ideas out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
are generally lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any
    ideas or tips? Thanks!

    • Jessica says

I wait for an idea to come to me before sitting down. It’s much easier than forcing something. Thanks for stopping by!
